in which there is doctor who merch
Went to World Cafe last night (thing run by Holy Trinity Church on Friday nights, mostly for international students to meet home students and vice versa), which was good and definitely a needed distraction, and decided I’d also come to their Norwich treasure hunt thing today–the idea was basically that everyone would meet at the Forum in town, split into groups, and wander around for an hour hunting down various places to mark them off a list.
Unfortunately–because I could stand to meet some more people and also to wander around Norwich some more discovering some of its secrets–I was running late, as usual, and then the bus took forever to get there, and it was half over by the time I reached the Forum, meaning no one else was there. So I wandered around for two hours instead, using my cell to take pricing pictures for later, examining the cheap suitcase I’d planned to buy and realizing that it wasn’t even worth $20, and not actually buying anything.
But, and this is a big but, there’s this TV and movie shop across from the Forum. And it has, yes, lots and lots of Doctor Who merchandise. Not just DVDs, books, and action figures, but like…towels and posters and mini Daleks and toothbrushes and rubbish bins and I don’t even know. I could really spend some mad bank here. This would be bad, but on the other hand I could use some retail therapy.
And! Guess what! Tom Baker is coming to that very shop to sign stuff next week! I know, David Tennant would be better, but I’m still excited.
