		<description>Hiya!

Good blog! Good topic! Jindahl never really apologized for that nitwith comment either. Furthermore, the $140 million wasn't just for monitoring - it was for other volcano research. And no...Redoubt itself hasn't killed anyone, but in 89 the ash cloud brought a KLM jumbo jet from 30K feet down to 5K feet when all 4 engines flamed out due to the ash. They managed to restart a couple and land and it cost something like 80 million to fix....in 1989 dollars...more than half of the $140 million. Also, the Drift River oil terminal which lies on the other side of Cook Inlet got flooded due to meltwater from the volcano and the clean up was quite expensive. This year on at least one occasion workers had to take shelter.

The pic links were great. I tend to think that the one you ID'd as Hawaii is Mt. Etna in Italy - do a google image search for Mt Etna volcano - there are a few that are quite similar. Also, the one you ID'd as Mt. Redoubt is Mt. St. Helens in WA I am pretty sure - again, try a google image search and you will find some very similar to that one. In both cases you may need to go to the 2nd or third page to
find the pics.

Um...I think you need to do a blog on how weird and just plain wrong Euro toilets are!
